They're playing Christmas songs at work. I almost dozed off during The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire) and O Holy Night.

Not me! I love those, especially O Holy Night. Have you ever read the lyrics of the song? It expresses the beautiful hope that is the season of Christmas.

Yes it's long, and the melody sounds sort of like a lullaby, like one that might be sung to a baby trying to sleep on a cold dark night, or to strangers looking for a sign that life may be changing for them when they need it most. Sometimes we need to slow down a bit, really realize what's going on around us, and maybe just be thankful for what we have and reach out to someone who isn't doing so well.

I know you probably weren't looking for this much philosophy with this question, but you touched on something meaningful to me! Merry Christmas.

Maybe you just haven't heard any good versions of the two. Martina McBride has a wonderful cd,"White Christmas" and she has both songs on there. Whenever 'O Holy Night' comes on it makes me very energized. Its wonderful!!!

Depends on who is singing it. Mariah Carey did a great rendition of O Holy Night. If its the old school retro throwback versions that your parents wasn't even alive for, then heck yes!

For me the most boring song in existence is our (i.e the British) national anthem.

It depresses me everytime I watch a sporting event and you hear it sung in a flat monotone. 'The Star-Spangled Banner' might be hard to sing but it's got some pep to it (and La Marseillaise is bloody fantastic).

I think we should switch it to 'God Save The Queen' by the Sex Pistols!

Personally, I love those songs. They are a little slow for work, but I love when they come on the radio.

I'm with Scott. You could always play "I am Santa Clause" by Bob Rivers.
