hello,
i am an asian male age 21.
i have a small wound near the tail bone area, between the buttocks. it bleeds a very small amount of blood, but does not get healed. i do not recall hurting that area. i discovered it by finding blood on my clothes. it does not pain or burn at anytime, even when using the toilet. i can see a small round tear in the skin in the mirror if i separate the buttocks just below the back(i.e. much higher than the anus). even then it does not pain at all.
also there were no swellings or pain before or after i discovered the wound.
can someone please tell me what to do?

i sit a lot at the pc, many times for hours at a stretch. i checked some websites for fissure/fistula and they seem to occur very near to the anus accompanied by severe pain, which i dont have at all. i am thinking i shall apply some ointment for a few days and not sit for so long at a stretch and see how it goes.
any general non-prescription ointment that i can use?
it does not look like chaffed skin because it does not appear of an abrasive nature. it is more like a small tear.

It would seem that you have a small pilondial cyst and as long as it is open, you should have no trouble. However if it begins to close or becomes infected, a doctor may be needed to open it and pack the wound with a special type of gauze. Many people that have this condition, strangely have another symptom that seems unrelated....they have eyebrows that meet over their nose...so check the mirror. Of course, there can be other reasons, but that's what it seems to be. These sometimes granulate in from the inside, but some need the interior tissue removed before the wound will totally heal and close.

I completely understand your lower back pain. I suffer from chronic pain including lower back pain in my lumbar spine. This is a result of RSD and Fibromyalgia along with other medical conditions. So reading your symptoms and how bad your pain is, I think that you might have something going on that needs to be detected by an MRI. I think you should see a back specialist. I think this because you say you didn't fall and it hurts when you bend over and sneeze. i would have for you to suffer like this any further. I really do hope you will get an appointment with a specialist soon. It is really the best way to find out if there is a pinched nerve, a herniated disc, mild arthritis in your lower spine (as they've told me), or something that can be easily treated. I sincerely do hope you feel better soon and that you can find some relief from your pain. I hope that I was able to help in some way.

Go see a Gastroenterologist.
It could be an anal fissure/fistula. These are sometimes caused by common bacteria on the skin that turns into an infection. It could also be something as simple as a boil or abscess... if thats teh case, then they will numb it up, score it, pack and give you antibiotics.
At any rate, you should have it checked out. Go to an ER if it is getting really bad and they will take care of it in a couple of hours.
Regards,
Ryan

Sounds like a pilonidal cyst. One of my son's had one. He had the same symptoms as you for some time. (he didn't tell me about the symptoms until afterwards) He slipped and fell and that night the pain became excruciating. We went to the ER and had it drained and then packed. This packing was removed a few days later. It was not an enjoyable time. Consider talking to your doctor about it before you end up in the ER.

What you describe sounds like an early stage pilonidal cyst but you need a competent physical examination to make that determination.
Consult a physician at the clinic of your choice regarding this matter. You cannot attain a suitable diagnosis in a forum such as this.

It could be what doc's call a fibroid cyst. I had one. I had to get it surgically removed ( not recommended by me ) It took that laseration over 8 months to heal. I wished I'd have just dealt with it. Especially horrible if you live in hot climates due to the wearing of undergarments and pants or shorts.

This area is very difficult to keep clean and dry, lending itself to chaffing. Apply powder several times a day and it should be fine in seven to ten days.

hI,
I am a nurse of 10+ years and have also had a husband to have this problem. It is a cyst that has a fancy name that I cannot remember. It can become quite painful and very infected. If caught early it can be treated with antibiotics. Please see your doctor early, I have seen patients wait and have surgery to correct this problem.
