Broadway tickets are nice (along with a dinner out). Buy them a nice souvenir of NYC that isnt gaudy for them to display when they return home. A silver picture frame or a box of goumet foods and/or chocolates are other ideas.

I have always had a problem with this, as well, because my parents have reached the stage in their lives where they have everything! So what I have started doing in the past couple of years is to give them gift certificates. I start a couple of months in advance, so it is not too hard on my wallet. I get them a $100 coupon for gas, then some coupons for department stores, even a coupon for a grocery store. Sometimes I'll throw in a lottery ticket, as well. Hope this helps--and Merry Christmas!

Along with the tickets, how about a snow globe of New York City? Not the cheap kind, a really nice one. My aunt and unucle have one of Chicago and everyone loves it. When people come to their house in the winter, everyone goes right for the snow globe. And I'm talking about adults here. Actually, children aren't allowed to touch it.

I agree. Broadway tickets will be nice as long as they can use them while they're in town. Throw in dinner with it of course. And if that isn't enough, get them something simple they can return home with.

You can upload your photos onto some sites and they make mugs and mousemats and stuff like that with your photo on.
Or you could design a t-shirt and get it made at this site: http://www.spreadshirt.net/shop.php?sid=44009&affiliate=320946?et_cid=3&et_lid=6 and make them wear it, hehe!!
