I was that way also all my life. I used to cry if strangers looked at me for more than 2 seconds if my parents were no where to be found. I was also one of those children that when my mom would take me on vacation, I'd be shy around my own father after 2 nights away from him. Now that's SHY to the extreme. Then one day I got pushed around like the door mat I always was and I had enough of it. Today I'm considered a bit*ch, but I'm proud when people call me that. Don't worry, someday you'll find your voice too and you'll be extremely proud when it happens.

I feel for you,,,,Im 42,,,, female,,,I think its "easier" to be a girl and be shy like that then it would be for a man,,,people just assume (especially females) that men don't have those kinda feelings,,,,,men are "supose" to be "strong" emotionallly,,,be able to brush off things that they dont like,,,things that hurt,,,,I think a man being shy is VERY attractive,,,I dont know why,,,but it makes me see that man as being more sensitive ,, more caring about how their actions affect a person,,,(guy or girl),,,more people should be like that,,,,,,,,I have gotten to the point that Ive decided to just be me,,and if I come across as being too shy to someone,,,,and I loose them as a friend,,,or dont even get them as a friend,,,,just wasnt ment to be,,,,but the right people will end up getting to know you,,,,just keep being yourself,,,,your shy,,,,,,,thats ok,,,if being shy is your main concern,,,,you have NOTHING to worry about,,, look at how other people are,,consider yourself lucky to be shy,,,,thats something acceptable,,,,,but,,,being an ***,, or mean,,or not caring,,or insensitive,,or cold ,,,then you have a big problem,,,yours is a "problem"(if you wanna even call it that) that people can live with and that some admire,,,,,just be you,,,,,hope I don't sound like some old 42 yr old woman,,thinks she knows everything,,,,but i can almost guarantee you when your 42,,,youll think back on this and wonder why you were worried about it,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,plus,,a girl is gonna want you more then some guy that has gone out with a zillion girls,,,,your special,,,,

I was at one point very shy, I even asked a girl out in h.s. with a letter because I was worried of being turned down....how dorky is that?

You'll get over it, good luck my friend. Believe me, there is nothing to be afraid of, come on out of that shell!!
