Okay, I am currently an education major and thinking of changing my concentration from math to music, but know taht a lot of districts end up cutting music programs first. I am wondering if it would be better to change my concentration to music with special ed, or change my entire major to music with a concentration in performance(vocal perfromance that is)? I have no clue which one would be better for getting a job and really want to know how I can find out or if anybody knows anything with this wohle thing?

Stick with math, unless you want to go into Special Education. I know that there are lots of job openings there. I spoke to a lady that lives in southern Richmond and she got her degree in Music Education and has never worked in that field. She told me that a majority of her graduating class didn't either. She's had a couple of odds and ins jobs, but has never got what a college degree should get you. I'm sure that you would enjoy teaching music and that's very important, but if you don't have a job in the end, there won't be much for you to enjoy. A lotof times in under funded schools, music is being taught by the regular classroom teacher if there is a music program at all.

you should never make college decisions based on whether you can get a job. You should make the decision based on what yuo want to spend life doing. Do you want to spend your life doing math or playing music???

Unless you have crazy good talent, hate to say it, music goes no where. Stick with math.
