tattoos only hurt depending on where you get them, my recommendation to you is to get a small tattoo that can be easily consealed by clothing or is concealed by clothing if you are wearing a shirt and shorts. the reason being is that if at some point down the road you absolutely hate your tattoo then you can at least keep it covered, it wont affect your ablity to get a job (because it is covered) and if you dont use colors other than black and blue it can be removed easier. and as far as what to get, get something that says something about you, not something you might change your mind on later in life. for example my gf got a tattoo of autumn leaves on her ankle because her middle name is autumn, which isnt likely to change. so dont be getting tattoos of what is cool now, get something that is relatively timeless

I have 2 completed tattoos and im in the process of getting my full back tattooed, If your thinking about getting one, think long and hard, will i still like this 20-40 years down the line, things like taz, daffy ducks are pretty silly, I have friends who got these sorts of tattoos when they turned 18 they have now all had cover up jobs, Yeah ok, I rushed into my first tattoo, and again ok Its a common tribal band around my arm which after my back im getting covered over, if your going for a tattoo, look for one with possible meaning!?! Yes the do hurt, other parts worse than others ie: The spine relly hurts!!! If your good at drawing draw your own design so if you go off it u have only yourself to blame!! just kidding mate, good luck with the tattoo if you go through with it an enjoy ur 18th!!!!!

I got 2 tattoos and I love them. It describes a little of me and my life. If you wish to do that go for it. It only stings a little. It also depends on how big the tattoo is and how much detail there is in the tattoo. It's not that bad really and I hate needles let me tell you. I have MS and have to take a daily injection shot which I rather get a tattoo then take a shot. Take your time on choosing a tattoo that you like cause once it is on you it's rather hard to get off. I took my time and looked at many different tattoos till I found one that I liked and best resembles my character. Good luck.

I have a tattoo on my lower back and it did hurt. It all depends where you get a tattoo if it hurts and you need to be sure this is what you want to do because once its there its there and it will cost you a lot more to get it removed. But go for it you only live once and I got mine when I turned eighteen. Good luck and Happy Birthday.

Don't get a tattoo unless you can honestly look at it and say you won't regret it. I know too many people who have had cover work on their first tats. You don't have to do something extreme to remember your 18th birthday, I got my first tat when I was 22, and I made sure it was what I wanted, and I don't regret it yet. I"m getting one for my 30th birthday, and made sure this is what I want too.
Depending where you get it will depend if it hurts.
What I did when I turned 18 was take a solo trip, and took pictures, and made a photo album. Just being on your own in alien territory is an experience in itself.

It does hurt. If the tattoo is over bone it hurts more than in fleshy areas.

My friends and I made a deal, we would wait one year before getting a tattoo and if we still wanted it, we would get it. 4 of us made the deal 2 of us got tattoos. None of us regret our decisions.

My other advice, get it where it won't show during interviews for a job. Example: if you want to be a teacher, doctor, CEO, etc, will they take you seriously if you have a huge tattoo on you neck? Also learn from Angelina Jolie's mistake- she had "Billy Bob" on her upper arm, as you may know, she hasn't been with him for years.

Before that needle hits your skin, remember that it is permanent (or at least expensive and painful to remove). Pick something that expresses you (even if you have to design it). As for pain, it depends on the tattoo, tattooist and placement. I have 7 tats and only 2 really hurt.

If you dicide to get a tatoo then I would advise you to get it on your UPPER arm. You should also get something that you like, shuch as a motorcycle, or a sports team that you like. Whatever you want would be the best choice for you. By the way, you don't have to do what your friend says.
Hope that helps!

Tattoo's are something that you will always have with you so it needs to be something that means something to you. I don't recommend getting your 1st one on your foot. That was my 1st and it hurt soooo bad!!! I hope that you find something that you can look at everyday and have a good memory

You could do a spider,or a scorpion. But the main thing is to be not to be realistik but simple like a logo graphic.
