my monitor's display is giving a lot blue of somehow. the colors are really bad, and kind of bluewish. i just bought the monitor and and tried to change the colors through the monitor it didnt work. i have another monitor hooked up to the same tower and it is not giving me any problems so it's not the VGA. and i dont think there is a problem with the monitor since its new. is it possible for it to be the monitor cables? or what could be the problem?

I think there can be three reasons...
1. the port at the end of the monitor cable is damaged (might not be a manufacturing defect...) . when u connect the monitor to the cpu, try fiddling with the port... pull it up or push it down (don't break it!).. if the colors on the display change from blue to some other color... then this is the answer... or

2. If you don't have an external graphics card, then the connection between the VGA port and the motherboard could be loose. you can do the same 'fiddling' with it if you can open ur cpu and if you have a motherboard equivalent to Intel 800 or lesser series. (Please exercise caution if you haven't done it before)

3. Lastly .. if the above two don't help... the gamma setting in the display setting is not configured properly. you can check that by going to the settings tab in the display properties. click on advanced and then go to the color management tab.

Have you checked to be sure that none of the pins are bent on the monitor cable connector? If not, and another monitor works OK on the PC, then it is the monitor. If it is a monitor with a detachable cable, you can try swapping it. But most likely you are looking at an issue where one of the "color guns" has gone out. That will cause the display to be mostly one color.

Just play around with the button on the front of the monitor until you get the right adjustment. Or exchange it for another since you just bought it.
