I was thinking of getting an mail order bride, should I?

I just connect with non American women better it seems, they have all the qualities that men want in a wife Loyal, beeautiful, hardworking, aprreciative, caring, ect. Plus many of them are trying to leave ecomically depressed countries and giving them a new life in America will be much better for them. And no I don't want a submissive women or a sex slave, I have always treated women great in all my relationships and share all the responsibilities with her. I'm 6'2, 205, dark hair and green eyes. I'm also in very good shape, I work out four times a week, I'm college educated, I have a very good job, and I don't cheat at all. A women from Asia or South America would be ideal for me I think. So wha does everyone think.

You have to be very careful, there are some horror stories
that have unfolded, but mostly with the russian brides. Seems
so many women around the world will do anything to get into
this country to obtain a green card. Once in their possesion
some dissappear. There seems to be risk involved in every-
thing now-a-days. Make sure both your eyes are wide open
and not fixated on the small picture. Be aware of any extra
baggage that might come with a bride. Put extra guards on
your bank cards and accounts if possible. Good Luck with

Be careful with the Russians. Lot of them are smart, funny, pretty, but they are also pretty strong-willed and don't take any crap, but they might not make THAT obvious until after you are hitched. What they want to do - more than anything, is get out of that dump, and some might be willing to use you just for that purpose. One of the guys I know that married a Russian lost her to a guy with more dough. I hear that's not unusual. The other guy is sort of PW, but he seems happy enough.

The guys with the Columbians seem very happy. But if you go for a latin or South American, don't ever get caught cheating on them. They'll cut your nuts off while you are sleeping.

None of these were mail-order, per se, arrangements. Came of legitimate travel and online correspondence. I used to go to Eastern Europe a lot, and dated a Romanian woman for a while when I was between marriages. Ended up being a bit of a heartbreaker. I didn't want to live there, and she refused to leave her family and come here. I used up all my frequent flyer miles and she married some guy named Domino or something.

But maybe that's for the best. There are some big-time cultural hurdles to be cleared if this sort of thing is to work out. Get into it, meet some of them, and you'll know what I mean.

You talk about the women of the world as if they are one people. what do you mean you connect better with nn american women. You are not suggesting that an australian woman is the same as a Russian woman for example!?

It also sounds like you are buying a dog, and are looking to rescue one from the pound. well, she might turn around and bite you, after all your consideration.

You sound like you look after yourself and know how to be a considerate husband. You should have no trouble finding a woman to share your life with. There are plenty of women out
there in your own country that have eastern or slavic cultural backgrounds. If that fascinates you, get out there and start dating them, but please - get to know her before you marry her. The happiness of your future children may depend upon it

Why would you need a mail order bride? There are plenty of asian and south american women that already reside in the USA. You need to explore why you want "prepackaged" wife and are looking to bring a woman to the USA who is totally dependent on you probably poor and uneducated. Bullshit about the part of giving them a better opportunity. Grow up and learn to deal with women as equals, stop being intimidated and hiding behind the false statement "I just connect with non-American women better."

No! "Buyer's Beware!" Have you heard this saying? You are taking all the fun out of meeting, conversation and body language. From what I read you seem to be an intelligent and attractive man with so much to offer someone. Don't make the mistake of doing this and become disappointed. You choose to help one person from a depressed country, but what about the rest? You are not helping by doing this. I would like for you to re-think your situation and add up your pro's and con's of this. I would hate for you to receive damaged goods.

Think about this.. You want a companion in life. You have to understand their culture. You may be willing to care and share, but in return, they are not for love, they are just for better lives. Sure, love can develop later, but after all inter-racial marriage will create more or less some problems. No doubt about same race marriage that always ends up with divorce.

The way I see it, it does not matter who that is, you get better communication first

Do what you feel is best...just be aware that a large majority of mail order brides leave their husbands after they gain their American citizenship. I know of several men who have done this and ALL of their wives are now gone. Some have stayed longer than others... I'm sure that there are people out there that it has worked out well for. I just don't know any of them.

There's no such thing as a "mail-order bride" anymore. That's a thing of the past that the media currently likes to label dating services from overseas with.

I think it's a great idea. Check out Costa Rica, or perhaps any former Soviet Union country. You don't even require a visa to go to Ukraine...just a passport. But you are spot-on with your assessment of women here (in general). With the advent of feminism in our culture, many of them have lost what it means to be a woman. They're all to busy trying to be men.

childofhistory1 - I'd say that says more about the men you know than the women. My wife is from Ukraine and I know dozens of couples in the same boat...very few go south. In fact, the divorce rate is less than 5%, compared to a dismal 50%+ for marriages involving women here in the US. The men are the same...so you tell me what the difference is.

OK, so my dad was a detective and I was a psych major.

Go for it, if that's what you want. If you get Godzilla, in spite of pictures, depending on the arrangements made regarding meeting and stuff don't go "squealing like a pig" because of a bad mistake.
