Salvation Army usually has a program that allows you to shop in their Christmas shoppe. You have to call them for the details. Also, check with other places like Catholic Charities, Lutheran Social Services, and even the local churches. They usually have great programs going on this time of year.

Here in Chicago kids write to Santa @ the North Pole or @ the Post Office and the letters are sent & sorted at the Cardis Collins Post Office downtown by age & gender and put into bins. People go to the post office, pick one or two letters to Santa out of the bins and send gifts (which people can do anonymously if they wish) via US Mail. I've done it for 4 years now and it really is fun to play Santa. It's kind of risky because you don't know if someone is going to pick your / your kids letter, but it *is* free. Call your local post office to see if they have a similar program.

If there is a local salvation army in your area you can get free gifts from there or call your local ymca because they do toy drives during the holidays. Hope that helps and God bless!
