yes 27 bones in hand- 8 carpals, 5 metacarpals, 3 phalanges each in four fingers and 2 phalanges in the thumb,
similarly in the foot, but carpals are called tarsal bones and metacarpals are metatarsals in foot

Actually the previous poster says similarly to the foot but thats not accurate. While there are 8 carpals
scaphoid, lunate, triquetrum, pisiform, trapezoid, trapezium, capitate, hamate
there are only 7 tarsal bones
talus, calcaneus, medial cuneiform, middle cuneiform, lateral cuneiform, cuboidal, and navicular
But, the bones of the hand are the 8 carpals, the 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th metacarpals, the 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th proximal phalanges, 2nd,3rd,4th,5th middle phalanges, and 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th distal phalanges.
That adds up to 27! (8 carpals, 5 metacarpals, 14 phalanges)
