the proper place that a friend needs to be in is the place that gets past "duties" and just "does" because there is a friendship that exists. It is my opinion that friendship is a genuine caring relationship that exists is the present, I don't believe there are any real "you have to do this if you are my friend" rules, it's simply caring and loving someone in their day-to-day existence

The duties of a friend to a freind are limitless. To be there for him or her, whenever that person needs you. If the person is your friend, however, you will not ask them to do things that might get them into trouble, such as lying or stealing for you.
And friends should never lend friends money. If you can afford it give it, without expecting it back or with no strings attached. Lending things to friends can really ruin a good relationship.
Another thing, never sell your friend things like your used car. That can really end in splitsville.

Duties of a friend to a friend is to listen when your friend has somthing to say. To do fun things together or just sit around doing nothing. To be kind, not to do or say hurtful things. Have a shoulder incase they need to cry. Your friend is to return all this back to you. If they put you down never want to do things you want always what they want, maybe it is time to find a new friend.

loyalty to your friends is very important, and the truth, if they are real friends they deserve the truth and will accept it in the end, but i guess there arent really any "duties"

Depends on your relationship with that person, if they become a friend you would treat them the same as your regular friends.
