If you have a "frost-free" refrigerator: Chances are that the freezer-drain is clogged by either ice or other debris. The freezer drain is located at the bottom of the freezer underneath the tray. You have to defrost and clean the unit. It is relatively easy to do, but time consuming.
1. Unplugged or turn off the unit, remove everything from both compartments and keep both doors open.
2. In the freezer, lift up the bottom tray to reveal the drain. In the center of the drain there is a hose or tub connection that leads to the back of the unit. This drain line ends at a tray, where the water evaporates due to the heat coming off the compressor.
3. If you have an ice plug or dam at the drain pour hot water on it to start it melting and continue to clean the unit.
4. There may be a drain in the bottom of the fridge underneath the removable veg bins. Remove the bins and inspect and clean the area while you are down there.
5. Inspect eh drain line located in the back of the unit. Normally you can remove this tube/line and run water through it with a garden hose.
6. These lines are about 3/8" diameter and it doesn't take much to clog them up. Give these steps a try before running out to buy a new one. If it works you will have a clean unit! If it doesn't the trash guys will appreciate it!
7. REMEMBER: Plan your work, work your plan and clean as you go!

Sounds like you need a repairman. The only other thing to do is pull fridge out and thoroughly clean behind it and underneath. Also if you have too many items in either fridge or freezer that can affect the temps.

The freezer can't really get too cold if you want to keep ice cream solid and make meats last longest. You might want to check to see if the light in the refrigerator is staying on when you shut the door. Just push the switch in to see if the light goes out. You need to make sure that something is not blocking the air vent that allows cool air into the refrigerator. Also make sure the evaporator fan is running. Again you might have to push the door switch or switches to see if it comes on when the door is closed. This will not run if the defrost timer is in defrost mode. If after a half hour the compressor and evaporator fan can not be heard then it is staying in defrost too long. At any rate you want to make sure the evaporator fan is running, this is the one in the inside of the refrigerator.

Turning the freezer's temp all the way down will really make it cold, you should turn it up and to make your fridge cold, you should turn it all the way down.
If this didn't work, there could be something wrong with the thermostat. Call a technician.

Hi,
I had this problem a few years ago as well.
It is probably the thermostat that controls the temperature.
Call the appliance manufacturer and they will send out a repair person to fix it.
If the fridge is old, you will probably need to replace it.

First thing and cheapest thing to do is clean the coils real good. Get all the dust away from them and the fan and see if that helps. If that doesnt help, you could call a repairman. I had to call one in the summer. He charged $40 to tell me the compressor went bad! Time for a new one for me...LOL

It just might be easier and cheaper to buy a new fridge than to get this one fixed. Sounds like your thermostat went bye-bye
