They are interchangeable.

BUT, some "older" video cards can not handle LED screens correctly.

ALSO, you have to be aware that there are NOW 2 standards, VGA and DVI. They use different connectors. Be sure you have the right connections to match your computer.

Monitors are "plug and play" meaning you can use ANY monitor for ANY IBM compatible PC. With a Macintosh computer, it is different but you don't need to worry about that.
