If you are using a Yahoo account I can give you a workaround.
You can download the utility from website below and configure your e-mail program (Outlook Express/Outlook) to download all the e-mails from your web account to local hard disk.
http://www.ypopsemail.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index
Mostly depending on which e-mail website you are using. Most of the website gives you facility to get a POP upgrade with a little fee. then you can configure the e-mail account in Outlook/Outlook Express/Eudora/Thunderbird like programs.
YOu can also find similar utility for MSN/Hotmail.

Yahoo itself won't allow you POP access (which is what Outlook uses) unless you pay for it.
But there is a very small program already mentioned - Ypops!
I, myself, use it. Just make sure you read all the documentation on the site - some settings are much better than others. The forums are especially helpful!

I also recommend you use Thunderbird - it has more filtering capabilities than any Microsoft product out there. It's free, up-to-date, has free add-ons and much more.

Let me know if you need any help...

If you are using the free Yahoo! you will have to get a program called YPOPS! to get your mail through Outlook. The bottom link tells how to configure Outlook to receive the mail.

hi maria.
you simply CANNOT use a a regular yahoo account to set up a client email (outlook or outlook express) bec. it doesnt have a pop & smtp server that will allow you to send and receive mail. unless you have a different account with your ISP (msn, aol, at&t, etc) then you can use their pop & smtp server to set upan email account.
