Yes to gamecube, no to game boy.

It plays Gamecube games and actually can connect to the nintendo DS (pretty sure some hardware is needed). But other than that no. If you want to find out more though, check out Wii.com. Enjoy!

it has backward-compatibility so it can play GCN games.

But no, it doesnt have Game Boy player, but it would be sweet it if it did
