Someone sounds a little spoiled. I think you should just be thankful he might get you one of them.

Make those the only two things you ask for from anyone. I'm sure a bunch of your family and friends will ask what, just tell every single person you want a silver iPod Nano and a pink Nitendo DS, and nothing else. You're bound to get it.

Those are two pretty high-ticket items. I agree that you should make the point by asking only for those two things, but if you don't get them it doesn't necessarily mean that your Dad doesn't love you. He may not be able to afford to buy both of those for you. My son wants an XBox 360 and I would love to get him one but my wife has been out of work for over a year and I just don't have $300.00 to shell out for one. Maybe by the time his birthday rolls around I could save it up...this is the reality of being an adult and a parent -- see what you have to look forward to?

I would take the Nintendo DS over the iPod.

Can you say SPOILED?

My Lord both of those things are really expensive. That is a lot of pressure to put on your dad, especially if he doesn't make tons of money. Sad Sad. I know this may be a little hard for you to believe but money DOESNT grow on trees.

Get a job.

Be nice to him everyday till christmas. Like help him with his chores, do his bed, laundry, vacuum, cook for him, have the family dinner together, talk to him, watch movie. and everyday make sure you mention the ipod and nintendo in different ways. give it a try.

i got the same problem. what i do is i say that my hot 40 year old pen pal from vermont will buy the stuff for me. it makes them laugh and that encourages them to buy it for me because it says, "all's well!", and parents need that.
