There are many possible solutions.
Assuming your AMD Turion has at least one Ethernet port (which it should) you can connect the computer to a cable modem or DSL modem.

Also, I'm guessing that an AMD Turion has built in wireless capability for 802.11b/g. With this you should be able to set up in a "wi-fi hotspot" (like at coffee houses, libraries, universities, some public parks, etc.) and access the internet that way. Or you can buy a wireless router (I recommend one that is 802.11g compatible) and connect that router to your cable modem or DSL.

Lastly, if your computer has a 56k modem for phone lines built in, you can connect to the Internet via an ISP (like Earthlink, AOL, Netscape, etc.).

Actually you need to know what Modem/Ethernet card you have and install those Drivers. What I do, if, the Motherboard/Processor not detect the new Hardware. Go into your System Profile and look under Devices and find your Modem/Ethernet card. It will usually show there with a Question Mark. Highlight it and click Install. It will then give you the Box to search for the appropriate Driver. Some may need to be unzipped and installed in a folder on the Hard-drive. Locate the Folder with your Browse and the computer do the rest.
It hard to explain all this, but, if you need email me and I try to work you through what you need to know. Try to know what Modem/Ethernet Card/Wireless you have and I try to find your drivers and give instructions. I do this all the time for friends, usually we talk over messenger, but, I not take unsolicited calls through messenger, too much Spam crap, so email me first, if you not find what you need to know. All I know to do.
The above answer may give all you really asking for.
