"A Brazilian is a Portuguese on the run!"

AntoineBachmann: Brazilians also find Portuguese classy and elegant! ;) Guess which is my nationality? ;)

i don't understand why you would think that all brazilians think exactly alike about portugal, or are you asking about a specific brazilian's ideas. believing that a group of people all share the "exact" same opinion is a form of stereotyping. of course people aren't like that.

the Brazilians I know all tend to find the Portuguese a bit tacky / lacking style, not too smart, rather boring. At the same time they tend to respect their dedication (for work), and the qualities that tend to help becoming successful (serious, watch pennies, etc.).

but clearly, overall, they do not respect them too much. This attitude is quite in contrast with that seen in the US, where anything British still counts at the utmost in style / class.
