I am 29 weeks pregnant and I just started having a toothache and discovered a cavity. Trying to find a dentist who takes my insurance, but is there anything they'll be able to do any way this far along?

Try and use sensodine toothpaste. Brush hard. That will help after a few days for the pain. You can have it checked out but if they need to pull it you will have to go without the novicane. regular cleanings are not advised because of the bacteria they scrape off your teeth will get into your bloodstream which could harm the baby.
Talk to your doc and see if you can take something else for the pain if it hurts too much. Good luck you are almost there.

You are fine to go to the dentist. Dental visits are actually important when pregnant because dental issues can cause pregnancy issues.
It just isn't recommended to do stuff like whitening, and braces etc...stuff that doesn't actually determine oral health.
Don't forget to TELL your dentist that you are pregnant. Don't just assume because you have a belly, they are going to come right out and ask. You'll need a lead vest for necessary x-rays and certain pain meds will need to be avoided.

Yes you can get dental work with a local. Most dentist will take care of you on this.

One of my best friends got a root canal 1 days before delivering (just last month) She didn't get any pain pills for after the local wore off but it didn't bother her.

After all she was induced for natural childbirth the next morning, and I think that too her mind off the tooth! She geta a permanent cap next week.

you can see the dentist during your pregnancy. since your baby is taking all your calcium it is normal to develop cavities while pregnant. back in the day women used to loose a tooth with every pregnancy for that reason. my doctor advised me it was fine to see the dentist.

They will just have to put the lead vest over your belly to take x rays. They should be able to fix your tooth though. You are far enough along. Good Luck.

My dentist recommended I wait until after I have the baby - but I am not in pain.

Maybe it is okay if is bothering you that much.
