What is it that makes people skin different colors... like white skin and black skin... what's in the skin to make it that color? it does my head in trying to think of the answer

The chemical is called melanin...

Black people have a lot of Melanin in our skin because our ancestors were from the tropical environment of Africa. White people have very little melanin in their skin because their ancestors lived in a colder climates

It's what and where you live in parts of the world. The varies shades are due to melanin... Also, If you study man and culture throughout the ages, the envirnoment made people who they are.
