How to fix "Startup loop" Win 2K Pro?

Question

I use windows 2K prof. on 2 computers "A"(Bad) & "B"(ok)
===Computer "A" now is locked in a loop===
The computer starts Windows 2000 Prof.
and after "Windows is starting up" comes on the screen,it goes blank and
starts a count down while displaying:

*** STOP: 0x0000007F (0x00000008,0x00000000,0x00000000)
UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP
Beginning dump of physical memory
Dumping physical memory to disk: (counting 0 through 100)

After count 100, there is some text in a flash so fast that I can't read it
Then the computer starts Windows 2000 Prof. and after displaying
"Windows is starting up" it goes blank and repeats the process

in SAFE mode
I used AVAST to check for viruses and found a Trojan virus
File name: C:\awossir.exe
Malware name: Win32:Trojan-gen (Other)
Malware type: Virus/Worm
VPS version: 0650-2, 11/23/06
I deleted it from 11 places and ran AVAST 3x without finding any more
viruses, the computer is clean but it still has the above "Loop" problem.
I tried "Restore to previuous system", and Disk Chec etc. didn't fix it.
I can buy Win 2k Pro OEM CD but hope someone can fix without that.

I can give you a link that deals with hard drive problems.
Some RAM/ hard drive problems can be easily fixed yourself by using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful

Sounds like a hardware issue. Possible memory, hard drive, motherboard, graphics card etc.

I had the looping problem with my laptop too. There was part that needed replacing.
