A few years ago there was a special report on CBS news in NY about a scientist working on brain transplants. His thoughts on the subject involved growing a cloned body, and transferring not only the brain but also the brain stem and much of the spine - if I recall correctly.
While the report was serious, the news reporter (as is the case normally regarding issues of this nature) did the tongue-in-check routine.
If a procedure like this was possible, I wouldn't do it just to be super strong. Though a robot body would probably have other unique abilities. If I was faced with my death, I would consider a transfer (preferably in a cloned body). I would always consider a robot transfer a temporary solution - as I think too many of the human senses would be lost.
There are already thousands of people who have made a similar choice in the area of cryonics.
Cheers!

once you say robotic and mind, i imagine of the scripture that announces the actual body is extra a robotic without the spirit. the mind and the information, may also be a computing gadget like a matrix gadget in heaven. Gregg braeden has theories in this issue i does not do it. yet good now, the utmost promise of etnernal existence is the resurrection. and there looks to clinical information that people have performed mind extractions. or head transplants or something like that ! what I have heard in rumors, is that the information isn't meant to be eternal being mortally built. the psychological diseases of previous age must be conquer earlier any such robotic body ought to even paintings in idea. because the mortal ideas can't outlive psychological degeneration, it ought to absolutely be hypothetical to shop a mind alive for no more advantageous than a pair hundred years. extra powerful to settle for the judgement of mortal lack of existence and desire for a sturdy or extra powerful reusrrection than to stay a toughness with a diseased mind. that being suggested there's a promise that exists contained in the LDS theology that some people will "lengthy" lives until eventually they die; even after the resurrection starts.

If I was dying anyway and it was a perfect science, not bothered about the strength of 5 gorillas one would be enough, yes I would consider it as my body is knackered and with no cure in sight I would really consider it.
I think most people would who are disabled in some way or another as you would get your life back.

Why be a piker...? Hold out for the strength of 50 gorillas!
Now, if you'd said the INTELLGENCE of a gorilla, and some celebrities have had it done, then I would have believed you!!!!

... Are you people serious? This is a quote from that wonderful Adult Swim show, Sealab 2021! It is one of the very first episodes that was aired. I actually think it is the first episode, where they are all sitting around deciding who would be what kind of robot, and Dr. Quinn finally gets fed up and shows the rest of the crew that he is infact a real life cyborg.

No it's all crap! No celebrity really is part robot that I know of. It's called special effects and if someone doesn't know that they need to see a doctor. So no because there is no such thing.
