Well, the English think it's them because they are arrogant that way, but, of course, they are wrong! If you look at the list of winners of the world cup, then you are most likely to say Brazil, because they have won it more times that anyone else. But if you look into the history of Brazilian football, you will see that they learned their attractive, short passing playing style from a Scottish guy called Watson (I think) who hailed from Paisley and plied his trade in the Paulista league for São Paulo. So if the Brazilians have won the world cup more times than any other, utilising the Scottish short-passing style, then you have to say, the best footballing nation in the world is Scotland. Hahahaha!
Well, it stands to reason since we have the best fans in the world and, of course, professional football was given to the world by Scots is a fact. Look at the history books, England fans! Read it and weep!

Definitely Italy and Brasil. They both hold the most world cups, they've both produced some of the best footballers of all time...(Pele, Baggio, Rossi, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Buffon, etc). And right now Italia holds the Fifa World Cup, with an outstanding team of stars. Even many of the Brasil superstars ply their trades in Italy, such as Ronaldo and Kaka.
And England think they're so great...they suck!!

hey,if northern ireland are the bst then how come england beat them 4-0,thats right,4-0,then beat argentina 3-2,but have never beaten brazil,so if you mean the breatsest footballing team now then i will say italy note the world cup holders but if its from all time then its brazil without a doubt,scotland aint even in the top 20 on the fifa rankings while england are 4th wahheeeyy.read it and weep scotland and ireland,and maybe wales.

Not an imaginative answer but they export more players than any other country & they have won more world cups. Holland always fascinate me though: how does such a small country turn out so many top class players ?
