well im always cutting myself, so i just take it easy, and don't rush, and always moisturise, because it makes your legs smoother, for the next time you shave!
hope this helps xx

Crikey...you're either using a crap razor or your hand's very shaky, mostly cos you're doing it in a hurry? First, exfoliate.... (makes all the hairs stand up and means it's less likely you'll get any ingrowing hairs). Second, use the hottest water temperature you can stand to wet your legs and lather up with a good shaving cream or shower gel. When actually shaving do it in the opposite direction of how the hair is growing so for legs this means from bottom to top). For underarms and elsewhere, you may have to shave up the way and/or down the way. You can use kinda diagonal strokes on your underarm, and for some, horizontal ones as long as you hold the razor to the side to do them (ie you'd have the razor lying on its side to do these strokes), If you held the razor upright and went horizontally, you'd just be slicing yourself!! Use even, medium length gentle strokes (don't press on the razor too hard - and don't go too fast - the slower the better really). After 3-4 strokes, clean the razor under hot running water (best place to shave is in the shower) - that way you're not trying to shave with a clogged up razor. When finished shaving rinse your legs off again with the hottest water you can stand. Before drying, apply some moisturiser or oil (not cooking oil)...baby oil or similar. Applying this to wet/damp skin means more moisture is absorbed by the skin - a good thing! When legs are dry.....moisturise again!
Good luck.

I find shaving soaps and gels dry out my skin, as well as covering up where I need to shave - both of which makes cuts more likely. Instead, I now use shaving oil, you can by it in tiny bottles (great for travelling!), only need a few drops to make your skin silky and easy to shave. Just be careful you dont slip in the bath/shower!

shave slowly & dont press down as hard as you would with a used razor. its sharp enough to shave even though you arent pressing down a lot.
