It is very normal to have cramping as long as there is no bleeding.

Don't listen to mermaid, that answer is completely off base. Although there is a chance that it could be a miscarriage, as long as you're not bleeding or spotting that is a good thing. If I were you I'd try to move that doctors appointment up, if you can't maybe try to get to a walk in clinic to discuss what you're feeling with a doctor to be on the safe side.
Good luck to you and congratulations.

You will go nuts with every little feeling durig your first pregnancy. Thats part of the fun and adventure of it. Trust that your body will do what it is supposed too.

I've had 4 pregnancies one was a miscarriage. I had more cramps with the third child than the miscarriage, so dont sweat them unless you are bleeding.

Buy the "what to expect when you are expecting" book - it is great!!! and has loads of questions and answers like yours.

It depends on how severe and if there is bleeding also. Many thing can cause cramping. Hang in there, take it easy, make sure you drink lots of water, and then ask your doctor about it on Thursday.

Cramping by no means indicates a miscarriage, so disregard that answer!
I had all kinds of horrible aches and pains and cramps and bleeding during my pregnancies, and I have two fantastic children to show for it.
Go to your doctor or the hospital and they'll sort you out, one way or the other.
I wish you all the best,
Donna :)

I have had menstrual cramps and such my entire pregnancy (31 weeks now). If they start to become unbearable or accompanied by bleeding then you need to go to the dr/ER right away.

Period like cramps are totally normal for the first trimester. Your uterus has never had something implanted and growing in it. It causes cramps.

SO long as theyre not doubling your over, or resulting in full on bleeding or colored discharge you're fine.

Most women get them.

I had and still have cramping. at six weeks it could be your embryo digging itself into your uterus so that it doesnt flush out of your system. still if it is really painfull and you dont think it could be gas (which i also unfortunately experienced) then mention it at your doctors appt. if at any point you bleed red, go to the hospital
