Christmas is the reason for loving, giving and sharing!!! This should be the focal point for the season.... and you are right in your observations, Christmas nowadays have become too commercialized. This is the sign of the times, and we will just have to make the most of it. It has its advantages, though, we have a lot of choices, and for busy people, everything can be bought behind the counter. Just as long as we take time for families and friends, the tradition lives on. Advance Merry Christmas !!!!

It has become too commercialized- The meaning that I was taught- was the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ..
Spending time with family in celebration- I think that's the way to go..
It's gotten to the point where hardly anyone says Merry Christmas- just Happy Holidays..
Politically Correctness- It Bites..

I love the commericalism. That's what gets everyone excited and in the spirit. We are a society of many beliefs so to focus on the religious aspects of just ONE holiday in December would be oppressive. The same thing happend ages ago when xmas was declared to fall on December 25th...it oppressed the celebrations that occured way before christianity came along.

The real meaning of Christmas is to be with Family and friends, Its not about how much you spend on gifts, its how much turkey you can eat and if you help with the clean up!!!
LOL just kidding.

the real meaning of Christmas in my opinion is to commemorate and celebrate the birthday of JESUS, even if there are others who disagree. the merchants have taken the idea of gift giving and made it such a commercialized market to make money feel in a few years there will be a revolt.

I guess it is all perspective. If you want it to be commercialized, it will be. It's kinda hard to look past the sales, TV ads and holiday mayhem, but it can be done. My opinion, It is to commercialized but retailers use this time to make up thier losses over the year.

It is too commercialized! It is about the loving gift that god gave us. So we should remember to be thankful for that and the gift of family and friends that we have.
