My baby dropped around 30 weeks too.. He was only born 5 days early. Dropping around 30 weeks is very common.

Its not that the baby dropped, like, into the pelvis. I went trough the same thing at 30 weeks. I had a side-ways baby, so my tummy seemed much higher and bigger, which is pretty normal for early on in pregnancy.
At 30 weeks he turned so he was head down, the effect was that i could breathe and eat, and my tummy had a different shape and people could tell the baby was 'lower'.
Its probably something more like that. Where he's just gotten into position so later he can move down into the pelvis for delivery.

you are probably on the slim side and so baby will drop sooner and get in the birthing position sooner, its normal and so are you and your baby. Get ready you might be ready to go in the next 6-8 weeks, Good luck and smile, you are going to be a mommy:-)

With first babies, when they drop, it's for good. With pregnancies after the first, the baby may drop and raise back up. Don't know why that is so, but it does seem to happen.

According to my Baby Center magazine you shouldn't drop until the 36th week. You should probably speak to your obgyn as soon as possible.

No, it's not too soon. Mine "dropped" around that time too. I didn't notice it with my first either, but I had a boy first, then a girl, maybe that's why. Good luck
