i have just moved in to my first place with my boyfriend about 300 miles away from my family. we are bearlly coping money wise at the mo. we cant afford to get each other gifts but i would really like to get my brothers and sisters something as they have really helped me out while i have been feeling home sich (ringing me and chatting and writting letters). i would love to get them something nice. but it would have to be cheap or maybe something i could make for them. any ideas would really help thanks.

For brothers I have no idea but you could get some heat and pour soap and make soap for your sisters or you could make a bunch of candy for them.

hmm depending on your budget which im guessing is very limited you could do a number of options

1. Gift cards $20 ea to where ever
2. Check out bath and body works for some nice bath sets they range in price and size
3. i dont know what either are into but say your brother is into tennis or golf you could get him some tennis balls or golf balls they dont have to be the expensive ones.
4. like you said you could make something visit your local dollar store and get some craft supplies, or make little gift baskets for them..dollar stores are great you can find lots of stuff in them.

since xmas is less than a month away its really hard to save up money for gifts and rent, but maybe you could work a little extra overtime each week and save that money towards gifts. hope this helps a little.

I was in a similar position not so long ago. Gingerbread is the most lovely festive treat and I made a gingerbread house for my sisters as it is something we all remember our granny making for us when we were little. It doesn't post that well though so you'd have to get them to come and eat it with you! Recipe and instructions here

Really nice christmas tree decorations aren't too expensive, or could even be homemade, and don't clutter up people's lives for 11 months of the year.

A real sponge for body washing. They feel refreshing and cost less than a fiver from Boots

you definitely can do it yourself, such as a greeting card that make by you and your boyfriend. I'm sure that your family member 'll love it since there is a gift from your heart.
