According to Darwin's theory, human being is developed from monkeys..then Why it is not happening today?? Why any monkey is not getting changed into Human being today?? Was Darwin right?? Any body wants to put any different theory??

Evolution is one of those very dangerous subjects in which just knowing the surface of the subject can be misleading. Humans did not evolve from monkeys. We evolved from the ancestors of current apes. Think of it like a fork in the road. The apes took their path, and we took ours. And all evidence does point to Darwin's theory of natural selection being correct.

Edit: To those of you saying that evolution only occurs over thousands of years.......this isn't necessarily true. Over the last 50 years bacteria have evolved to become antibiotic resistant. Since bacteria reproduce on a much shorter time period and they don't have the DNA repair mechanisms that eukaryotes have, their DNA mutates much more rapidly than ours.

Also, monkeys will NOT eventually evolve into humans in 1000 years as one person claimed. Humans are not the tip of the evolutionary tree as some would like to think; we are just another branch on the evolutionary bush.

KoNqUeRoR: Please, please, please don't close your mind when so many people are trying to tell you something basic.

Somebody has given you a *terrible* understanding of the theory of evolution. You need to get past that elementary school cartoon image that evolution is just "some guy named Darwin had a theory that humans came from monkeys." (It's like saying that the theory of gravity is just "some guy named Newton discovered gravity when an apple fell on his head").

It is amazing how many *basic* errors you were able to make in the short paragraph of your question. In less than 50 words, I count at least FIVE really *fundamental* misunderstandings about what the theory of evolution actually says:

1. That "human being is developed from monkey". Not true. This is NOT what Darwin said. No scientist believes that. Instead, the theory is that modern humans and modern monkeys had a common ancestor. This is not splitting hairs ... this is a *very* important difference.

2. That evolution seems to be "a monkey getting changed into Human being". Not true. No scientist has ever believed that evolution ever involves a single individual (a monkey or an individual from any species) changing. Never did. It is always about an entire *population* of individuals (a species) evolving gradually over many *generations* of individuals.

3. That evolution is instantaneous. Not true. Evolution is *extremely* slow. It takes literally millions of years. Scientists believe that humans split from the other primates over 6 *million* years ago. Why on earth do you think scientists are expecting to see changes in monkeys "today"? That's like asking "if a redwood tree is growing, why can't we see it growing *today*?" Evolution makes the growth of a redwood tree look like a rocket.

4. That evolution is repeatable. Not true. Nothing will ever evolve into humans again. Evolution is the result of millions of tiny accidents (breedings and mutations), reinforced by millions of little survival events in the environment. If the ancestors to man were to be given another 6 million years, they will indeed evolve ... but they would NOT evolve into humans again, but something different. If you repeat evolution a thousand times, you will get a different result every time ... never a human again.

5. That this is all Darwin's theory. Not true. Darwin did not originate evolution. It is an idea that has been around since the Greeks. All Darwin did was provide the *means* by which it may have occurred (something called "natural selection" ... although you will need to read a bit more before you get to this). Darwin wasn't the first, not the last. And *many* scientists have provided more and more evidence of evolution.

So whereever you are getting your information about evolution ... GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. They are filling you with *terrible* nonsense that is only making you look foolish. Rather than convince people that creation is true, you demonstrate that creationism can only come from a complete *lack* of scientific understanding.

I'm not saying you have to accept evolution. I'm just asking you to at least get a little more accurate explanation of it. Don't expect people who *despise* the theory of evolution to explain it to you accurately. Don't rely on anti-evolutionists to explain evolution.

Evolution takes a really long time. So there would be no noticible changes. The reason monkey's aren't evolving into humans, is that they are better adapted the way they are to live in the jungle. Think about which would survive better in the jungle, a human today, or a monkey. Something else to think about is that, as humans, we are evolving as well. It is hypothesized that body hair will be lost, and our thumb will move toward the middle of our hand becoming more opposable. We are now physically weaker than our ancestors from 1,000's of years ago, but more intellegent. Was Darwin right??, Evolution is a Theory, which means it is widely believed to be true, however, it has never been proven, and probably never will. Hoever, you can somewhat prove the theory by using bacteria in a culture model, then adding anti-biotics. Maybe 1 in 100 bacteria will survive, that that one will make a while new colony that is resistant to the anti-biotic. Very few things are able to be proven as a law in science. But yes, the vast majority of scientists believe in evolution, and there is strong evidence of it all around us. The strong survive, the weak die.

The main point of theory of Darwin is the survival of fittest. All the animals does not survive in the evolution only a few which adopted themselves.Their is a very less difference between humans and orangotons. The evolution started when we reached the savanas. We adopted ourselves for standing on two legs, better use of hands and many more other things.Evolution is also continue today but it is a very slow process. What do you want to see that the monkey seen by you yesterday will converted into a human. That is almost impossible.Monkeys are adopted to climb the trees. They are developing in their field. They will got better organs for their survival not a well developed brain like us.

I'm sorry. I think this might be an interesting discussion but I've read that passage 3 times and can't decode most of it. Three comments: If we depart from Popper's falsification principle, we aren't doing science anymore. There is no claim that humans evolved from chimpanzees. If you say "a pre-human primate", that will do. The theory of Darwin would not survive as a theory without physical evidence.

We didn't evolve FROM monkeys directly. We each had a common ancestor. Kind of like you and your distant cousin having blue eyes because of a great great grandfather or some such thing, but at a much greater time scale.

Humans are actually closest related to Chimpanzees, more so than apes. We all had a common ancestor (in fact it is believed that everything living on earth today has a common ancestor if you go far enough back in time). It's like the Adam and Eve story, that we're all decendants of a single male and female.

Evolution is usually brought on by environmental pressures (bears grow thick coats because it's cold outside and ones that have thinner coats get too cold and die sort of thing, so the ones with thicker coats are the only ones to survive to old enough to reproduce, producing babies that have thick coats, for example).

Evolution is still happening, but the time scale for evolution is HUGE compared to the life span of a human, so will not be noticable. Scientists have studied evolution in fruit flys and creatures with VERY short lifespans (on the order of hours), and have observed it.

Evolution is witnessed in phenomenons such as viruses becoming resistant to certain medicines that are meant to treat and kill the virus - that's evolution (commonly called mutation) of the virus to survive in exposure to the medicine.

who knows? u may have come from a monkey only? :D
Just kidding!

because your thinking in the wrong way. The theory of evolution is actually very complex and the Darwinian theory is only an aspect. Evolution is still not clearly explained. Anyway, think about evolution as a tree which goes on branching. So one of its branch gave rise to primeval apes, which then branched out to different beings, lets say monkeys, gorillas, Neanderthal man ,etc. So it wasn't actually present day apes turing into men.

PS: I am no biologist so I am sure am not technicallly correct, but thought I'll give you the general concept.

Darwin's theory is generally accepted now-a-days, though there are many other theories. The important thing to note in Darwin's theory, is that these changes are occurring over hundreds of thousands of years, with a small change each time. And on top of that, it works like this: Modern day humans and modern day primates started hundreds of thousands of years ago with the same ancestor. This ancestor *branched off* into what is modern day human and what is modern day primate. So, modern day human did not come from modern day primate, rather, modern day human and modern day primate both evolved from the same original ancestor. Hope it helps.

Darwin is right. Today's human beings are developed from 1000 years old monkeys. Today's monkeys will be developed into Human beings in the next 1000 years.

Evolution takes thousands and thousands of years and our life span is not enough to see the slow transformations. See a 1950's movie and today's movie and you see the change. But how much change is there between a movie of 1996 and 2006 ?The movies over a period of time have evolved in terms of techniques, dress and looks of actors. Similarly all organisms are slowly changing and change for better or for survival. We may become super men by 3000 who knows.
