It was probably mineral oil at one time, but I think they just use water now.

I don't know, but I've done something to make all the Magic 8 Balls mad at me. For the last several years, when I ask them questions they say "NO"

Especially if the question is "Should I read the Magic 8 Ball"

I don't know why - they didn't used to do this ... weird huh?
