Can anyone tell me what it is like at the end of Jan also, beginning of Feb, as I am looking to go there at that time also.
Either there or Luxor.

I had the pleasure of staying in Sharm in the first two weeks of January this year arriving on the 29th December just in time for the New Year festivities.
I took a thermometer out with me to the pool every day and the temperature ranged from 24 degrees to 28 degrees centigrade. Most days, though, it was around 26 degrees centigrade. There does tend to be more cloud cover that time of year but there was only two days when we didn't see the sun. The rest of the time it was sunbathing weather and we both came home very tanned.
As for the evenings the temperature was still mild, probably around about 15 degrees centigrade and we were comfortable walking around in just t-shirts.
In my opinion, this is the best time of year to visit the region. We also visited Sharm at Easter and by April the temperatures were starting to hit the mid to late thirties which I found a bit oppressive. Apparently during the summer it can reach 45 degrees centigrade or more!
With regard to the temperature of the Red Sea during the winter period it averages about 22 degrees centigrade and feels warmer than the hotel swimming pools.

THe weather is fine in january, but surely most of your day time will be spent underwater, I`ve been ot Sharm,Dahab,Marsa Alam and Taba and they all have a different "feel".
Marsa is undergoing a lot of building works because it`s still developing (great diving and not as busy as anywhere else yet) but the nightlife leaves a bit to be desired.
Dahab & Taba are excellent.
Sharm (my favourite) has excellent diving but can be very busy and plenty of nightlife lurks around Namma Bay, imagine an egyptian blackpool.
Tip; get your visa before you go to avoid the queues, a visa is really only required if you`re diving but they hound you to buy one so unless you speak fluent egyptian save yourself the hassle.
