Dragging knee is used to determine lean angle and most people over hang off the bike so they can touch down. As riders get better and faster they hang off less and still get their knee down just at higher rates of speed.
Knee sliders/pucks are used to prevent damage to the riders gear and or knee.
It is my practice NOT to drag knee on the street. The conditions are not predictable enough for that aggressive of riding.
The roads, here at least, are not very well made and all have gravel and oil. We save the aggressive riding for the track.

1. If a racer, then yea, he (or she) has a knee puck.
2. If a street rider, then probably not. If so, again he (or she) has a knee puck.
3. If you're talking about an accident you saw, then you'll have to tell us :)

Yes, in his or her gear, they have a knee protector for the safety of the riders.

What are you, some kind of moron? Of coarse you need protection ! If YOU ride a motorcycle, then stop before you hurt yourself and more importantly someone else ! You are obviously to stupid to even think about riding a motorcycle!

Yes they need knee pads, usually made of plastic. they are detachable from the leather suit, so they can be replaced easily.

Dumb question, but yes he does. He has knee pads, usually made from kvlar or carbon fiber
