selection of V V S Laxman--It's something like selecting an old man for playing hide and seek

Dinesh Karthik was selected because he is a wicket keeper batsman and in the event of any injury to Dhoni, his services could be utilised. Laxman has been taken because of injury to Dravid as Laxman is considered as an ideal replacement for Dravid as he has sound defence and technique and can hold
one end.

kartik i don't know what their playing at, but VVS Laxman is proven quality and on his day can play better than Tendulkar or Dravid. He can't go over fielders but honestly how many times have you seen Dravid, Kaif, Raina, or even Tendulkar in recent competitive matches. A few sixes a match does not compensate for a steady consistent 40/50

i guess that laxman is a slow batsman and poor fielder but still i agree that he should be above karthik in d selection..
