Even if the earth wasn't tilted at all, it would still be colder at the poles and hotter at the equator. Imagine that you want to find a place to lay down solar power panels on the ground. You'll get more solar energy if you picked a spot at the equator than at the poles, because one gets the maximum solar energy influx when the sun is directly overhead, and minimum when it's at the horizon. Having the earth tilted merely exaggerates this effect, and causes seasonal changes in solar influx for different parts of the world, but is not the primary cause of "too cold" and "too hot" being in some places. The primary cause is that the earth is round, so that some places just get more solar energy than others.

it depends where you live. I live in Virginia and our winters are just perfect, if not too warm sometimes. But our summers our way too hot. It is really not because the tilt of the axis. That is what causes seasons. Sometimes you have a strong el nino or a week el nino and it makes the winters and summers like they are. Look right now, seattle is colder than average for this time of year, and the east coast is way above normal. It is just what it is. There is really no main reason.

Sorry you don't believe in that but it's true. The seasons are due to the angle at which the sun hits the earth, which is caused by the earth's tilted axis. More cold or more heat (beyond seasonal change) is the climate's constant flux - not necessarilty global warming or greenhouse gasses. BTW, you can demonstrate this to yourself using a globe and a flishlight.

Middle School science and proven theories suggest that the Earth is tilted. Check out the link below. As to your question on temperatures: It all depends on what cold or hot means to you. If cold to you is 60 degrees Celsius and hot to you is 90 degrees Celsius, then you need to have a chat with either people who lived their entire lives near the north pole, or to someone who lived their entire lives near the equator. I live in deep south Texas and 60 degrees is freakin' cold for me, but 90 degrees is a wonderfull day.

i dont understand ur question. r u simply asking why its cold in winter and hot in summer, or colder than usual and hotter than usual?

if its the second question, then it is because of environmental changes from smog and global warming. pollution can really affect the climate and create unwanted substances in the atmosphere, or can damage the atmosphere.it can also affect the natural features of earth causing the precipitation levels to fluctuate and the amount of sunlight to vary.
