If so, what do you do? Is it what you've always wanted to do? Do you wake up and actually look forward to going to work?

Good question. I'm interested in reading the various answers.

Nope, don't look forward to going to work at all, unfortunately. I've been an engineer now for over 11 years. And while it's been a great career that's taken me to various countries (one of which I met my wonderful wife), I've simply grown tired of it.

Which is why, over the last year, I've been studying and positioning myself to become a freelance copywriter. Hopefully I can complete that transition in a few months. I'm very much looking forward to being my own boss. :D

I love my job... I'm a student, he he!

But seriously, I used to have a job I really enjoyed before I started Uni. I worked for a guy who had 2 businesses. I spent half the year plucking pheasants and other game birds, butchering deer, etc etc, its sounds gross, but I enjoyed it, I was working with a friend, the boss never interfered, as long as the work got done we could turn up when we wanted, go home when we wanted, and have a break when we wanted - we were paid piecework, so it didn't affect his or our income. The reason I loved the job so much is that we had that trust and respect - and because of that, everything ran smoothly, we made good money, and the boss and the customers were delighted. We used to have such a lot of fun I actually looked forward to it, which I can't say about any other job I have had.

I am very happy with my job! I have my own home based business. I am with Coastal, I sell vacation packages at wholesale cost and also am a travel agent. I also help others get started in the same biz that I am in. Not sure if it is what I 've always wanted to do. Wanted to do several things in my life. Also have own construction co. sons run it now. But this was an investment for me and I love to travel and was trying to find ways to travel in style without paying such high prices. I enjoy taking my family on one really great vacation a year, besides the little side trips my husband and I enjoy taking ourselves. This is how I came across Coastal. Decided not only could I travel at great prices and stay in great places but I could make some great money too. I wake up and do whatever I want to do every day. I get out of bed when I feel like getting out of bed,or I wake up in another place and oh well I still make money. I work when I want, play when I want and travel when I want. I have a home office and when I am a way I have my lap top and cell with me,but I am not tied to those either. I have a call center that sells for me ,closes for me and ships out my packages for me. I BASICALLY MARKET MY PRODUCT! Then when someone just needs a vacation I've got my laptop and cell to get that done. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR JOURNEY WHEREVER LIFE TAKES YOU!!!

I wouldn't say my job is great and that I wake up every M-F looking forward to it. I think the one thing about my job that sucks the most are the people that I work with ... Out of the whole office, I think I really only like 3-4 people out of 30-40... Everyone else is either rude, annoying or stuck up.

Yes, I do. It's not the clients I look forward to seeing everyday, but my boss and my fellow compatriots aka employees. I work for a company that gives community therapy to sex offenders on parole. As long as I do NOT read their file when I put it away or the emails that come across from prison about them - I can do okay with talking to them in a happy manner. My fellow employees aka therapists are WONDERFUL to work with. My boss lets me take care of my family FIRST and THEN my job!! I've worked Corporate before and MONEY stood out WAY before family! I wouldn't trade this job for love or money. By the by - it does pay a LOT less than what I got paid in the Corporate world. I am a secretary aka administrative assistant. I hope you can find a job that treats you as a person and not a number as well!!!

Yes, I like my job, get to drive around the east coast looking at the beautiful sights. Not exactly what I thought I would be doing, however I try to make the best of it. I wake up looking forward to living. Work to Live don't Live to Work

I am, i wouldn't say I actually look forward to it but I don't mind it.
The money's OK, I get a decent annual bonus, I get a very nice car, a mobile, healthcare, a good pension, a company credit card for entertaining clients and I work from home a day or two a week.

And i feel valued and appreciated by my managers, we all have personal relationship with the board directors as well, they know who we are, quite an open company.

I'm a Business Development Manager for an insurance company.

I've just realised how materialistic I am.

I used to be. Im a PA to the MD of a big company in London, I get to mess around on here and stuff alot which is good and I get on really well with everyone in my office, but sometimes the stress of things I have to do is too much!
The money is so great, it means Ive been able to get a mortgage in London all on my own, but sometimes I wish I could go back to a less stressful job with less money. I suppose this will push me though and in a few years once Ive really got the hang of it it will all be a piece of cake- I hope so anyway!

I'm a science Teacher. I originally had no idea what I wanted to do. I've done some of everything but teaching has been my passion. I get pissed during vacation weeks because it interferes with the lesson, I'd do it for free if I had money to fall back on! It is important to the survival and success of our civilization. Bad kids and all, I still love it
