Do you have or know someone who has cancer?
if not, are you afraid you will get it?

I have family members who have passed from it. I do not live in fear because there is no sense in living in fear of something that you have no control over. It is a very scary thing... and it saddens me deeply... i think cancer makes me more angry than anything.

there have been several people in my family that have had cancer..all different forms...I most recently lost my Grandma to cancer..fortunattly for her it was very quick (a few days from diagnosis to death). I have also lost another grandparent and three uncles from cancer. But on a better side my Dad, an aunt, and an uncle have had cancer..but it was treatable..and they are all fine.

In this day in age it seems like everything can give you cancer..of course its a little scary but you can't let it get you down too much. The only thing you can really do is lIve your life and have fun doing it

My father and grandparents all died from cancer. I also have 2 friends with breast cancer. Cancer is not pleasant, but I'm not afraid. All I can do is try to live a health lifestyle and hope cancer doesn't develop, but if it does I'll just deal with it the best I can.

My father was taken by cancer at aged 27, and my grandmother also died from this dreaded disease. I am not afraid of getting cancer but would not like to become it's victim that's for sure. As for you do not allow this fear to become overwhelming as life is to short already without worrying about whether or not we may get something terrible so enjoy your life to the fullest and life each day as if it is your last. That way you'll also have a rewarding and grateful life.

Yes, my Mother, my Father, my uncle, and my brother all had cancer. My Mom and Dad survived it, my uncle did not. My supervisor at work survived a serious form of lymphoma and the book-keeper where I work just barely survived breast cancer. I know my brother's death scared Me the most. I went afterwords to the Doctor for a complete check-up and have returned every year. Now I never miss my annual cancer screenings.

Yes, my wife has had breast cancer. Several folks I've worked with have had cancer and some have died. My next door neighbor has throat cancer and his wife has had breast cancer. My dad has had prostate cancer.
I believe if you live long enough you will deal with some sort of cancer. Best thing to do is take care of yourself and take time to get checked for cancer.

It's understandable that you are scared, it is very scary...My father died of it...I have 2 aunts who have suffered from different kinds of it...my nephew...is in remission from Leukemia....Am I afraid? ...yes and no...I certainly don't want to get it but..if I do and due to family history, I'm at risk...I'll try to cope with it the best I can...it is encouraging that advances are being made towards finding a cure...try to take some comfort in that...give your time or donation to fund raising for cancer research perhaps it will ease your worries some and don't forget to do self exams...the sooner its found and diagnosed the better chances are for treatment..
Blessed Be!

My dad died of colon cancer as did a great friend. It's very common and prevention is the best thing. Get tested as needed.

Yes, both my grandmothers had lung cancer and died from it. I am very afraid it might be passed down in the family but I'm trying to stay as safe as I can and I'm praying they find a cure soon.

Yes, my mother had it twice. (Breast Cancer) I watched her suffer through the first battle with chemo and radiation only to have it come back within 5 years. Yes, I am afraid of having it. I also know though that there is a time to die for everyone and only God knows when it is.
