dubai is the most amazing city in the world, but at the moment it is a huge building site, the biggest in the world, the cost of living is about the same as in the UK apart from alchohol which is EASILY AVAILABLE in all hotels bars.. go to the irish village for a bit of the crack. and the rock bar opposite the burjamen centre for something a little heavier...the weather is amazing but VERY HOT in summer, try the open beach... but dont go during Ramadan when all is quiet. Dubai is a moderate mulsim city but you must respect the system. strictly no lager louts,, you WILL end up in prison for ever... good luck

Fantastic, i go every year guaranteed sun, best hotels in the world, fantastic shopping. Only downside is the traffic. Some hotels suffer with noise due to a large building programme going on in Dubai check with hotel first as the building is 24 hrs a day non stop. And whilst there do yourself a favour and go on a desert jeep safari the best day I've ever had, watch the sun go down in the middle of the desert whilst eating a barbecue and watching belly dancers. First class.

I live in Dubai, it is a great city, there is everything you need, nice beaches, good food, lovely hotels and "out of this world" malls, it is a free country, women here wear shorts, and they are so much used to tourists
The night life is very nice, hundreds of night clubs, restaurants and bars, drinks available in all hotels and restaurants.
It is a bit expensive though, see if you can have a good deal, and it is very hot in June till September, the shopping festival is nice too, which is in January, I really enjoy living here

i have just returned from dubai about 3weeks ago,and it is good, but i think you would have to have pots of cash, the shopping malls, hotels are fab.there is wonderful street markets aswell, the gold is very cheap and the people speak very good english.the hotel shaped like a sail, the burj al jareb, you need to make an appointment the day before to get in and have a look around and there is a charge...even just to look...its pretty nice.enjoy.

I've never been myself, although I'd love to go, but my friends parents just spent a month there and said it was the best holiday they have been on so far (and they go on about 4 holidays a year), so it must be pretty good!

Many things happen in the Emirates but you immediately get the feeling of the artificiality. Too pricey too… I could recommend at least 100 better destinations, if you ask me.
