I have this really good job as an IT consultant, well training to be, good prospects, good wages, i get to see the world, but it bores the hell out of me. Do i stick with it and hope it gets better, or say sod it and fing my true calling in life? i doubt i'm going to find anything better but surely there is more to life than this.

If you want to do something interesting with your life, I think that you have three options:
1) You can throw it all in, give up the job the money etc. and do what you want, if it makes you happy.
2) You can stay in your job, be unhappy, but loaded.
3) You can stay in your job and have a fun life outside of work.
Everyone hates their work (well most people do) but we have to pay the morgage/rent etc. so the job is a nessessity. You don't do your job 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You have time outside of work to socialise and have fun. You have to decide yourself what you really want. Because giving up everything could sound amazing now but it could get boring, and what are you going to do then? Personally, I'd ditch the job but you have to decide for yourself.
Hope this helped and good luck!!

I personally believe that any job is boring - eventually. Who in there right mind wants to wake up to the alarm clock every morning and head out to work for 8 hours? I can think of many many more enjoyable things I could be doing instead! Your job is what you make it. If you find it boring, find ways to change it. I find my job boring at time so I make more client visits and appointments to get me out of the office. If its good money and good prospects, you could run the risk of regretting the decision to leave.

I would go for the true calling in life. However, I have no one depending on my income, I have no family, so I can go after my true calling, because my boyfriend is OK with it. But you have to think if you can support yourself and your family (if you have anyone depending on you) while you are out there looking for your true calling.
Bottom line: Go for it! It is better to live your dream than to chase money and at the end, feel sorry because you never tried to go after your true calling.
Good luck, whatever your decision is!

Though money helps us survive - enjoying life itself is SO much more important!!!! It's your life and your job - you will do what you want - but I suggest with your talent and inspiration to find something better for your soul - look around. Check the websites for jobs, etc. There's always something better that fits JUST you! Unfortunately it doesn't happen overnight. I wish you well!!!

Why not give something else a try? What have you got to loose? You could always fall back on your current job if you come up empty handed, right?
Or, write down a few things you'd like to see yourself doing. Try one or two of them as a hobby or part-time job.

Stick with the job but keep looking. Your passion doesn't have to come from your job - you work to live and only the really lucky ones get complete satisfaction from their chosen profession.
