Most Odeon cinemas in London have 'Premier seats' basically the middle rows of the cinema (the best seats) which are comfier and you can put the arm rest up if you want, but it costs about a pound more.
Odeon have personally pissed me off doing this as I don't want to pay extra to sit where I please, but I hope it helps you.

AMC in Manchester has 'Lovers Seats' where you can fold up the armrest between yourself and your date to get cosy.... there should be one in London by now

The only one I know of is The Electric Cinema in Portabello Road. It is really cool with it's armchairs and foot rests and some double sofas at the back:) http://www.electriccinema.co.uk/
