Is this marriage going to last forever ?.

This subliminal marriage had made Britain the odd man of Europe.

In the case of Bliar and Bush they will continue to be married until they can get out of power still agreeing with each other. Joint decisions means no ONE can be blamed fully for the disaster they have created.
After they will fade into oblivion like all mediocre politicians and their names will be forgotten except for being the fools they are.

Briefly, in a nutshell. Great Britain includes England, Scotland and Wales. The UK is actually 'The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland'. So basically, if your want to include Northern Ireland you would say 'UK' but if you wanted to just include England Wales and Scotland you would say Great Britain. This is how they are classified according to 'land' etc. There are lots of little islands etc around the mainland and there are lots of different political rules etc that may mean one thing or another. But this is the most basic way of distinguishing the difference

The problem is that the USA is not satanic.!!!. It has the percentage wise the largest number of god fearing evangical Christians on this planet..
Bush reminds me of Mr.BEan.. he means well but just makes most things worse!! ah well! its the thought that counts..
and yes the marriage between the UK and USA will last well into the future.. We are culturaly very similar with USA.. But like the wife in an old fashioned marriage, the UK can still advise, affect and change America`s policy.. they listen to us.. and after Iraqq the owe us a favour!!!

The UK is getting the worst part of the deal but if it hadn't been for the USA in WWII there wouldn't be any UK to worry about.
It will last for a little while longer. The UK will eventually side with the rest of Europe. Just hope all those european countries don't need us to bail them out of another war when it finally comes.

I think I would prefer to call USA "super-Neoconservative-Christian-Puritanists" than "Satanic". Satanic shows a preference for the "Left Hand Path" and as we know anything "Left" is illegal in the USA.

UK has to move closer to the EU and further away from USA if they want to be considered part of the European Union and not the 51st State of the American Union.

To answer your question, the US needs the UK and visa versa. The Americans need a foot on Europe and the British need the American backing.

Sure this alliance with the US is embarrassing for us brits but I feel that Dubya needs the calming influence that we bestow. If we weren't at their side who knows how many other wars they would have started.

After all, the UK ruled the world once, we have experience in this kind of thing and we don't have the same "gung-ho" attitude that governs so many of the US's actions.

And before all the crap about WW2 comes through (although I suspect it already has), the US only stepped in because their own "property" had been attacked, not to help us out.

Tell them to sod off Tony!

hehehe

I remember the second world war and all those brave soldiers who gave their lives to give us a better future. Britain and America formed an alliance then to prevent such a terrible war from happening again. That protective need remains and hopefully will continue. I do not agree with the argument that America or the UK are aggressors. Or that their alliance is 'satanic'.

I have always wondered that, but having listened to this presentation I realise that it may well be 50/50

You can give your response to the lecture on my recently asked question 'Why do so many of us seem so disenchanted by our 'elected' leaders in Parliament?'

http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?s...

If you listen to the whole presentation you will not be posting for at least an hour and then your answer will have more weight! You can also print off the presentation if you are at work.

America is probably a great many things, good and bad, but I would not personally have listed Satanic as one of them.

Considering the astounding number of crazy religious freaks over there I would actually have said the opposite.

Although what 'religion' you are and what you actually do are not always the same.

America is abusing Britain, but we only have our week politicians to blame and New Labour in particular. Though the smug Cameroon would only impact on our downward trend. Britain needs more Independents!
