Well for one thing, I don't think a video card can do interlaced imaging. If I am reading this right, if 720p works then use that. 1080p would be your next best bet, but I don't think your video card or TV would support that. I don't think your video card is powerful enough to support it.

720p actually has better picture quality than 1080i. If you look in terms of resolution, progressive scan actually requires almost double the number of pixels that interlaced does. 1. your tvi may not be designed for 720p, 2. If it is, you need to change the settings in the tv. If it goes all liney, it means that it is looking for interlaced when it's a progressive signal, or you have the resolution of the connection set too high.Generally PC's only do progressive, so try setting the resolution to 480p, and also mess with the refresh rate...which should be 60hz.

Do you have HDMI cables? Sometimes what you buy is not what you can get. Xbox 360 can get 1080i but you need a firmware upgrade. Then....the blasted thing lacks the HDMI port, the video is compromised.

I'd check the Nvidia site or call customer support to ensure that you got what was advertised.

Does your monitor support that resolution?

It depends. The latest Xbox and and PS3 use HD-DVDs that are ment to be run at 1080P. Chances are you have no games on he PC ment to be run at 1080P. P means motion (sports, video games etc.) so it does up to 720P, because you aren't using the latest games and DVD player. If you watch a HD movie, it will probably go to 1080i. If you were to try and even run a video game at 1080i, the video image would be blurry and slow so no video game would even be made to run at 1080i.
