10 percent of the population admit to being gay. The population of Britain is said to be 60,441,457. If we assume half of the population to be women and 10 percent of those admitting to be gay i think a fair estimate would be 3 022 072 (.9).
This is only an estimate as it doesn't include those who don't admit their sexuality, it doesn't include bisexuality and assumes a 50/50 split male to female.
