It depends. Withdrawal can actually be effective under the right conditions. First of all, you need to have some idea of when your wife/girlfriend ovulates. This is only easy if she has normal, regular cycles. Then you need to use an alternate method or abstain for about a week at that time. The rest of the time, the method should be fairly accurate, as long as you are withdrawing prior to ejaculation, and not as it starts, or slightly after. Withdrawal is NOT 100% effective (like ANY method) and should not be used unless you are in a committed relationship and both partners have had recent STD tests.

Most references will tell you there is a 50/50 chance of falling pregnant with the withdrawal method. I have a little boy due to using that form of "contraception" if you can call it that. But we didn't mind if we had a baby, we were excited when we found out we were expecting. If you're not planning on falling pregnant, starting using an actual form of contraception. I know a few friends that fell pregnant this way, including myself. When men have sex they release pre-*** which also contains sperm. So even if he doesn't 'come' inside you, you can still fall pregnant.

The pull out method is not any type of birthcontrol at all. If you dont want to get prego then i would get on birthcontrol or start using a condom! Good luck!

You have a good possibility of getting pregnant using the pull out method...as pre-ejaculate contains sperm.

This method is not very effective at all. Condoms are only about 4.00 for a box of them, use them instead and you won't have to worry about pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases.

The "pull and pray" method is NOT effective...if you're concerned I'd get a test from the drugstore and take it.

I would not suggest it but, I can say that is what we do I do not want another baby but if it happens it happens. I have been doing it ever since my daughter was born and nothing yet ( 11 months) so I think it is pretty effective but I sure would not suggest it!!!! ( especially if you do it all the time) I would try to pinpoint you ovulation time and steer clear at that time.
