Well, either you can lie to her and build up some fake relationship or you can be honest and hope for the best. It's time to make a decision.

I have assisted many people with this issue. My advice has always been to make sure you are emotional ready to handle whatever is said. Do not go into the conversation with any expectations. Be sure of yourself though and other's will tend to treat you with respect. Don't say things like I wish I weren't this way or I don't want to shame you. In reality what we are saying is :I wish society didn't treat gays/Lesbians the way that they do otherwise this would be easier for me to tell you. Make sure to validate your Mom's feelings and let her know that you understand it will be probably be difficult for her to come to grips with as well as it was with you probably. Again be emotional prepared and have a plan.

If you feel like you have to tell her, I would just be prepared for whatever reaction you might get. If you are close to the moving out age, I would just wait until you move out to tell her specially if you think its going to be a volatile situation.
