My legacy is to have done something good here before I leave and to have taught my children (if lucky enough to have them), what it means to be loved and how to be a great person for themself in their lives.

Great one...love to know yours, though by the looks of it, it'll be for asking the best questions on Anwers!! (as if we're that bothered!!)
But anyway, i think about this a lot, it kinda feels like your legacy can't be pre-decided and only your life and action thru it could make that impression, but what i'd like it to be about is challenging oppression whereever it lays it grubby fingers....not colluding with the distressed messages the world puts out about who and how we should interact with as human beings, divided on whatever basis the world so chooses in that context.
I'd like to be remembered for trying to model something about including people in the process of life, and for independtly educating myself, across broad subject ranges and thriving always towards spiritual enlightenment, and struglling the whole time, battling against the stock i was brewed in (council estate, care-system misery). I want people to think, if he could do that, coming from where he came from, then i surely must be able to do more....i want the earth to be the legacy i manage to protect and maintain for my children and theirs and for 7 generations at least.
In a way i already have a legacy and that is connected to my heritage and Native American Wisdom, but for me i would just be happy if someone someday picked up something i'd written, or drawn, or created and felt alive, felt something, anything...a moment of life and living makes up for years of harsh times and strife. To pass on love where you had none, is the most healing thing to do and i hope i'm remembered for my unconditional and unjudgemental love of all who cross my path and share in this journey with me.
And you??
Thankx for asking that one

my legacy would be as someone who tried my best at everything and gave it my best shot, even if didn't work all the time and a person who cared about those closest to me and who've shown courtesy, respect and goodwill to me throughout the years. but also that my life has been a long hill struggle, which has been full of ups and downs as well as twists and turns.
my message i'd pass to the kids would be something on the lines of 'be true to who you are and be whatever you want to be in life. but always remain true to yourself, work hard to your full potential, do not neglect your traditions, roots and culture. and last but not least, try to be as good a person as you can be to others and to treat them with the utmost respect they deserve and as you'd like to be treated'.
btw, thanks for asking this question! as its definitely one of the best i've answered on here.

I'd tell them not to try and change people because it can't be done. You can only change yourself. If somebody treats you badly don't have that person in your life and you will be happier for it. Don't confuse love with pity and don't ever let anybody tell you 'you can't!' (unless its against the law). Be happy and let go the anger - it only weighs you down.

Certainly you'll get opinions here, and probably most valid.
If I have nothing else remembered about me, I'd succumb willingly, knowing that I'll be remembered for "He Tried"

I would teach my children the love of Christ, Individuality, and that we are all humans and make mistakes so we should never think we are better then others.
