My daughter gave me an impatiens for mothers day last year and it had blossoms on it at the time. Since then (1 1/2 years) it hasn't had any blossoms on it, though it has grown quite a bit. I've moved it into a larger pot, gave it Miracle Grow, left it alone, picked off the dead leaves....still no blossoms....please help!

Impatients are annuals. You are luck to have had it live this long. However, I know of one plant that propagated for more than 20 years. You must pinch the plant back and allow it to have new growth to get new blooms. Don't over water, but be certain that it has enough moisture to keep it from going limp. Too much water will make the stems soggy. You can root the cuttings that you take to pinch it back.

Give them bloom-booster fertilizer(any fertilizer with a high middle number like 15-30-45-or 60) This middle number on the fertilizer package means high in phosphate which promotes budding and blooming. Also give them a little more light then you are now.

Pinch them back slightly and feed them a time release food.Like osmocote. Keep up with the liquid food as well.
