of those who sit next or close to others with it so loud that half the train or bus gets to hear the tinny beat of something they don't want to hear. If one exsists I would like one.

Hi Wheel

I've been thinking about writing to Channel 4's Men In White programme mto get them to help me invent an i-Pod jammer which gives out a painful hi-pitch burst to anyone listeneing to their i-Pods too loud.

I've also though about carrying a sharp pair of smaill nail scissors with me on the tube to snip the headphones of anybody who really isn't bothered about how they disturb other passengers' journeys. I can take the tinny noise up to a point, but there are those who can be heard from five metres away. Surely these idiots deserve to have their i-pods damaged?

The less criminal option is to print off 500 stickers saying "The 'I' in my i-Pod stands for 'idiot' and that's me. I can't find the volume swith as I'm too stupid.".

Then go and stick these on the backs of i-Pod offenders. Humiliate them into submission!!!

Rant over ;)

good luck!

Several options of attack!.....

Old Servo 'Walkman' type cassette players can be affected by RF transmissions in the 130-150Mhz range...... Problem is using such equipment would be illeagal!

Most modern devices use either a mini-hard drive or some form of Flash memory, and both are virtually impossible to disrupt, short of a nuclear strike or similar!!!

One possibility is to use a device capable of putting out a broad range of RF 'spikes' (like when a lightning strike occurs) and this may get fed through the Amplification stages and cause annoyance to whoever is listening to the device!..... Not strictly illegal, but a bit difficult to construct and use, and may be dangerous to people with pacemakers, etc!

I just wish enough people would back each other up.... then we could just tell people with loud, anti-social, devices in public are not going to be tollerated!

Or maybe carry a big pair of Scissors and tap the person on the shoulder and say something like "I've been very Naughty!... I haven't taken my Tablets today!" and laugh menacingly, as soon as they shut the sound off to hear you!!!

Hope this Helps!...... If not, there's always Earplugs!

Yeah it's called a bomb. Trouble is, it tends to disrupt everything around you not just the MP3 player.... hmmmm

perhaps just tap them politely on the shoulder and ask them if they would mind turning it down?

Some sort of high power magnet would erase the hard drive of a nearby Mp3 player. If you can build one could I buy one from you? Good luck.
