I'm not sure, but what you could do is call the store you plan to visit ahead of time and ask them or say you would like some help and would there be an associate willing to help you. They could give you his/her name and then when you arrive ask for them and say you called earlier, that way there is less of a change of an uncomfortable situation and they might be more prepared to help you if they haven't been trained.

I have no idea about VS or other shops if they get actual training. In my personal experience when I go out shopping I usually go dressed so I can try on the clothes/shoes/whatever to make sure I get a good fit.
I've had varied reactions from sales people from those who don't figure it out to those who think it is interesting or kind of cool and ask lots of questions. A few times I've had sales people look a bit uncomfortable when they figure it out but that's probably more down to the indivdual you are dealing with. Some deal with it better than others.
As long as you aren't causing a scene or putting off other customers I don't really see a problem and I've not really had any negative experiences.

Well I'm a real girl and I always have problems when I go in VS. I tell them my size and they give me this snotty look like I don't know what I'm talking about, and they never can find a solution for me as to where I might be able to find my size, they're rude and honestly most of them do not have any bra knowledge whatsoever. So you may have even worse of a problem. Then again...I live in MA, but not from here, so most of the people here are snotty anyhow.
I know they get trained to sell things and promote sales, but as for dealing with people...they're just like anyone else that doesn't know how to handle a problem.

I don't think they do, but they probably SHOULD (I doubt your the first crossdresser to come in there)
But, Victoria's Secret does get more male customers than the average lingere store (by their estimiate, the majority of their customers are men buying stuff for the women in their lives).
Since their salespeople are used to dealing with men, they shouldn't have a problem dealing with you.
But, if you live near a major city with a big gay population (New York, Chicago, Washington DC, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Atlanta ect) you might want to go to a store that specializes in selling lingere to cross dressers.
They have lingere in men's sizes, and they won't freak out when a man comes in looking for a push up bra or a thong.

From what I recall, yes. There's about an hour or two worth of "training" that helps deal with different types of people and does, to only a slight and non-verbally mentioned degree, deal with transvestites. As far as policies, they are supposed to serve the customer period, regardless of apperance and what not. But then again, depending on where you are, some people may not want to work with you. If that happens, get a good lawyer.

I am a mtf/cd myself. I have never had a problem in stores. Either dressed male or female. Sometimes they will say something like this is returnable if it does not fit, in order to direct you away from the dressing room. But most are very nice. I do not know if they have any training.

If the idea of going into a store that may have snooty sales reps bothers you, maybe you should look into shopping online. You'll find that there are a LOT of TS/TV/TG friendly shops out there, and they may have more selection than the shops you'd find in your neighborhood mall.
Good luck!

no, they are not. the part timers most deffo aren't. What they do have is very, very basic training in ethical conduct. What you need is to get lucky and find a sales assistent who personally doesn't have an issue with it and will be happy to help you. And it takes alot of foot work to find one!

I worked at a lingerie store and we were never trained for these things, but they happen, and unless you are being rude or offensive, they should treat you like any other customer.
