Your hate for the French and the Jews is showing.
The French did not want to go to war but when it happened they gave up for the most part. However, there was a group of fighters that did not give up and they were the underground fighters. As to Anne Frank's parents they were forced out of their country of Germany by the Nazis' and hid in Holland. They did every thing that they could to save the lives of their children and themselves.
They were NOT cowards!

Anne Frank was born in Germany and raised in the Netherlands. Not all French folks are cowards, I'm sure. It's just a cultural stereotype.
She hid because she didn't want to die.

The French freedom fighters (La resistance) were some of the bravest, yet ill equipped fighters ever. They went up against occupying Nazi forces with little more than revolvers and molotov cocktails. They certainly weren't cowards.

The Franks were "German" Jews hiding out in Holland. Brave or otherwise they were not French jews.
