Many people used to dig ice houses near running water prior to electrical refrigeration. The cool water nearby kept the ground moist and cooler than the normal ground temperature. They insulated the hole with straw.

Three easy steps----------

1.) Put it in a box made of zinc.

2.) Close the box.

3.) Move the box to either Novya Zemlya or the Humboldt Peninsula.

Adding regular table salt to ice will keep ice colder than if it were just sitting in open air.

Add salt to a cooler to get your beer colder and do it faster! ;)

You could dig an ice house and try to super insulate it.
